EHC Nurse Residency Posters: The Therapeutic Power of Music in Nursing

“Nurses are often exposed to stressful and traumatic situations, which can lead to burnout, anxiety, and mental workload. Music therapy is a safe and effective intervention that can be used to improve the well-being of nurses and nursing staff. A systematic literature review found that music therapy interventions effectively reduced nurses’ stress, anxiety, and mental workload (Colin et al., 2023). One study found that the nursing staff who participated in a music therapy intervention reported lower stress and anxiety levels and higher levels of job satisfaction (Finnerly et al., 2022). Another study found that music therapy effectively reduced burnout in those who worked in intensive care units (Matthew et al., 2022).”
